ROUND 3
What a round it has been! For the players looking back and wondering why there is a Round 3 write up and not a Round 2 write up, well in the words of Carson, I need to you to hop off my dick, sorry I have a life and am not just watching Schitts Creek in my room. Joking of course! But kind of not because I am busier in the week than I am on the weekend, but anyways here we are round three.
I’ll start with the boring tribe, oh sorry, I mean the Bexley tribe. Honestly they’re not super boring because we have the icon known as Dusty on this tribe. Dusty finding an idol truly is what we all deserve after the hell that has been 2020. Like you can’t write this shit, having her get that idol is fantastic and honestly I feel like Dusty has just proven to be a really solid all around player. Socially she’s a bit mixed because she’s great 1 on 1 but a lot in the group chats. But Dusty has also been really great in challenges too. I’m so impressed by her this season and she truly is the spice on this boring tribe. Lee/Miranda are quickly finding themselves on the outs, Miranda needs a bit of a wake up call because she’s dropping the ball socially despite being solid in challenges. Lee has fallen to the outside of the tribe. He doesn’t have a good read of who likes who, especially of who likes him. Juju has major beef with Lee, especially with Lee pushing Dusty had they lost. This tribe truly would have benefitted from going to Tribal Council because going into a swap they are seen as this solid unit when they are actually filled with fractures. It will be interesting to see how they get mixed up and how a lot of them play going forward.
Now the Harrow tribe. This tribe is low key annoying, haha. I always hop on their calls to hope to get an idea of where they’re at strategically, but all they talk about are the idol cases and they’re all over the place with their thoughts on this stuff, to the point where it’s aggravating to watch. But anyways, this tribe really flopped the challenge, and it sucks for Roy that he was the one to flop because he was solid during prep, it was really Louise who struggled the most early on. The thing about Roy as a player though is socially he’s been able to avoid the chopping block as the vote is shaping up to be either Danielle or Erica. Roy/Danielle are pushing for an Erica vote, and I see where they are coming from. Comparing the two players Danielle has nerve, she is a more confident player, she isn’t afraid to call a shot and go for it, the biggest thing she lacks is experience. Erica has the experience and knows to be socially on top of things which she has been, but she lacks that nerve of being confident and a player that will call the shot. She really doesn’t add much to an alliance, in fact I think she’s a major reason why her tribe is so far off solving this case. But ultimately the whole decision is coming down to Casey who himself has been a bit of a waffle. He keeps saying he will vote either way and wants to go to the majority, but he’s not recognizing that it’s really a 2-2-1 split on this tribe and he’s the deciding factor. He’s instead giving the power to Roy to make the decision, so this will truly be a last minute rush to a decision with this group going forward. I feel like they won’t make a choice until the bitter end and honestly this whole group needs to step it up. They’re playing the game 10 beats behind the other two tribes and they’ll be in for a rude awakening when they meet new people in the swap.
Ok so for Ealing. I didn’t think this tribe could get more insane, but here we are! So to recap for those who don’t know, after the challenge Marissa was toast. Zaid tried for an idol to save her, he solved the case but the idol was gone (Dusty’s that she got from last round). So it was going to be an easy round, an easy vote. Then this happened in the tribe chat:
No lie, this is probably the biggest fuck up we’ve ever seen in CONQUEST. This is bad! Like literally watching a close alliance explode. This literally breathed life back into Marissa’s game. Last night was just the tailspin of this tribe and Zaid took advantage of it all to go to work. He hustled, playing all sides, getting all the information and trying to make the now fractured Carson/Leanna/Ethan no longer fractured but just outright broken, and he might have succeeded! Amazing play by Zaid to turn this around. He took the little inch that he got from Ethan and stretched that into a mile and with that, Carson Brooks had cracked. Carson now potentially pivoting to work with Zaid and Marissa honestly makes sense, because I think he’s now done so much damage with that duo that he will never fully recover fully with them, so why not keep someone like Marissa who you haven’t quite burned as bad. I will say though, as it looks like it’s now between Marissa and Leanna, I feel very bad for Leanna and how this has all gone for her. I don’t think she’s as bad as Zaid has made her out to be. Like he paints her as this evil mastermind and she definitely isn’t, she’s just playing the game and is honestly the biggest threat of her trio. The worst thing about Leanna’s game has honestly been her choice in allies haha. Ethan has been subtly painting her as the leader to Zaid and obviously caused the rift with Carson. Carson clearly majorly fucked up and blew things up and then Zaid obviously has been doing the most behind the scenes and been against Leanna since she pushed hard for Manik to go. I think she’s definitely going to feel like shit if she goes tonight, but she shouldn’t be that hard on herself, because I think her allies had more to do with her potential downfall than she did. Either way, this tribe going into a swap is going to be an absolute shit show, I can’t wait to see how they adapt.
